Airborne

So the team made it to Washington/Dulles International Airport in uneventful fashion, thank the Lord.  The team was a little nervous and excited all at the same time.  The group of 5 met at Rebecca and Tom’s place for dinner, counted and weighed the bags for probably the third or fourth time, packed the cars, checked our headcount (Rebecca’s little ones were hoping to sneak into a bag ;o and then headed to the airport on Friday evening, thankfully well after the DC rush hour traffic! 😉

We unloaded the two cars we drove out, along with the eager help of some new friends of We Are Kenya, James and Kathy, and headed into the terminal.  We got the bags checked, gave our hugs and goodbyes, and had a short time of prayer to commit their time to God, and ultimately His purposes on this journey.

Saturday we got the update that they made the layover in Turkey and finally landed safe and soundly in Nairobi, meeting up with our beloved friend and leader, Pastor Samuel, who helped them get settled in at our friend Ruth’s for the weekend just outside the city.

There’ll be some more updates for me to provide tomorrow, and then by Tuesday we’ll hopefully hear directly from the team on the blog, so definitely stay tuned!
