Hi Everyone,

We are going to start featuring brief pictures and profiles of some of the children at our school on a recurring basis. We hope their stories connect and touch your heart with the heart of ours at We Are Kenya.

STUDENT NAME: Christopher Ochieng
AGE: 5 years old
GRADE: PP2 (Pre-Primary 2; like our Kindergarten)
GENDER: Male

BIO / FAMILY HISTORY:
Christopher is a young, energetic boy who lives with a single mother in Soweto. He is the second child and loves school so much! He has faced a lot of challenges because of the poor living standard of the family. His mother works in a cabbage collection site where she earns between 200-300 shillings a day. (about $1.80 to $2.75 USD) Chris loves school so much – but due to challenges at home, he misses school quite often, and this has affected his performance and his relationship with his classmates.

Christopher is a wonderful example of how your financial support helps in order to save him from going to the streets. Due to the hard life he has faced, We Are Kenya / Vision Link School has stepped in to help him realize his dreams – and that starts with providing him with basic needs of food and education.
